Message from the IC Graduate and Undergraduate Leadership (August 2018)

Core to the IC mission is to support the personal and professional development of our members. We recognize that the strength, diversity, and community of our organization continues to be fueled by the impressive leadership and accomplishments of each individual member. Therefore, we have made a firm commitment to never require a member to choose between achieving their individual aspirations and being part of the IC community

In August 2018, the IC applied for an “Interim Recognition” year with the Harvard College Dean of Students. The purpose of this year is to explore paths of increased inclusion and plan for implementation in the following year. One path under exploration would involve a formalization of the IC’s longstanding partnership with the Owl Club (see below for a joint statement from the Owl Club and IC Corporation Leadership).

[Clarification 8/24/18] There will be no major changes to recruitment nor club operations for the 2018-2019 school year. Any plans under consideration would be for the 2019-2020 school year.

Joint Statement from the Owl Club and IC Corporation Leadership (August 2018)

The Owl Club Inc. and the IC Corporation have a strong history of integration and collaboration dating back to 2008 when the organizations first began to share physical space, meal services, and host joint social events at 30 Holyoke Street in Cambridge. Throughout this collaboration, both organizations have remained firmly committed to their missions to provide a community and safe space for men and women respectively, while also enhancing the membership experience through the addition of shared experiences.

Recognizing the positive relationship the two entities have developed over the past 10 years, the Owl Club Inc. and the IC Corporation have now committed to a formal and interim extension of their partnership. The goal of this extension is to spend the 2018-2019 school year planning and trialing opportunities for increased cooperation.
